Srixon Sports Europe Ltd Case Study

Srixon Enlists Logistics Consultants at The Supply Chain Consulting Group

A registered trademark of, and owned by, Dunlop Sports Co. Ltd., Srixon Sports Europe Ltd (Srixon) is a subsidiary of Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. Offering a full range of golf clubs, golf balls, and accessories, which are distributed in nearly all major golf markets.

Srixon is dedicated to improving your game; a global leader in equipment and innovation, who use their passion and expertise to develop products of the highest quality and performance that fit a wide range of players – including many of the world’s top professional players.

Srixon supply golf clubs, balls and accessories across Europe to retailers, distributors and pro shops with a very small percentage of B2C sales on the internet. 100% of the products are imported from outside of Europe into the UK via the port of Southampton, with 47% being sold in the UK and 53% in Europe.

lFollowing significant changes in the business profile over the last three years Srixon management required the Logistics and Supply Chain Consultants at SCCG to conduct a two-phased project, consisting of a review of their current operations, and a location analysis based on costs, for either a single EU or UK depot, or a combination of both.

The locational analysis was prioritised, to establish whether the UK warehouse should be relocated or if the existing operation proved to be well situated. Following their analysis, the Logistics and Supply Chain Specialist Consultants, enabled Srixon to determine their ideal depot location, concluding the best solution being, to continue with their single UK site close to the port of entry.

Following their situational analysis, the Specialist Logistics and Supply Chain Consultants assessed Srixon’s current service level agreement (SLA) contract, reviewing their operations to analyse value for money, whilst simultaneously considering their relevancy to Srixon’s current and future requirements.

The Logistics and Warehouse Consultants at SCCG, UK, subsequently presented Srixon with the necessary information to understand their current processes and requirements, whilst also providing a valid understanding of the future view for their business.

With the help of the Specialist Logistics and Supply Chain Consultant team at SCCG, Srixon established an effective future logistics network structure to support their business, and successfully developed an economic budget cost profile, based on their business’s strategic future requirements.
