F&B was experiencing a period of rapid growth in the UK and Europe and was expanding its e-commerce offer to meet demand. F&B enlisted The Supply Chain Consulting Group (SCCG) to support them in ensuring their logistics network was optimised and could adapt to rapid growth.
SCCG conducted a review of customer locations, order profiles and service level and inventory requirements. Based on the outputs of this review, the SCCG team of experienced Supply Chain and Logistics consultants modelled strategic options around stockholding locations, carrier selection and manufacturing postponement. The specialist consultants built a bespoke distribution strategy model for testing various scenarios.
SCCG worked with F&B to reconcile the base case logistics network strategy model to the actual costs incurred. The consultants also worked through a number of example distribution strategy scenarios, recommending the most effective solution and providing implementation support.
As a result of working with SCCG, F&B have an optimised distribution network, and the ability to test distribution strategy scenarios in response to changes in business activity, such as the introduction of new warehouses to facilitate business growth.
