Gideon Hillman Consulting (GH) has been awarded a contract with Diageo in Tanzania, East Africa, to support its logistics and distribution centre design.
Diageo is a global leader in beverage alcohol with an outstanding collection of brands including the top two largest spirits brands in the world, Johnnie Walker and Smirnoff, and 20 of the world’s top 100 spirits brands including Crown Royal, JεB, Buchanan’s andWindsor whiskies, Cîroc and Ketel One vodkas, Captain Morgan, Baileys, Don Julio, Tanqueray and Guinness.
In Africa the strategy is to grow Diageo’s leadership across beer and spirits by providing brand choice across a broad range of consumer motivations, profiles, and occasions. Diageo is focused on growing beer faster than the market and accelerating the growth of spirits through continued investment in infrastructure and brands with mainstream spirits being critical to realising the potential of the region.
Diageo operates 12 breweries in Africa, four sites that produce sorghum beer in South Africa, cider plants and five facilities which provide blending and malting services. In addition, its beer and spirits brands are produced under licence by third-parties in 19 African countries. In the year ended 30 June 2016 Diageo sold its 25% interest in a brewery in South Africa.
